The trip south has started once again and as in every year, we hope to have good roads, and great travelling weather. Since the weather had been cool, we decided we would leave the motorhome winterized so if it did turn cold, we would be fine. We should have taken a bit more time packing – I took everything out of the fridge to take to the motorhome – too bad I just put them back into the fridge instead of bringing them with me. Thanks for looking after them Bill and Henrietta!!
The border crossing was great as it has been in the past. They did take our one tomato that had been from our garden so it was starting to get a bit shriveled so no problem.
The first night was fairly cold but the forecasters promised better weather. Next morning Gerry decided to flush the water system so everything will be fully functional. After mopping up what seemed to be like five gallons of water, we were on our way. Now the water story – apparently the tap from the water filter wasn't on/off – it had to be turned until it was off – who knew. But now I know!!
As we headed into the mountains, there was a fair amount of snow on the hill/mountain sides. The roads were good except they were wet so of course everything got real messy.
It definitely was pretty. Then we hit some fairly high winds; however it wasn’t for very long so were thankful for that.
Walmart was the stopping spot for a couple of nights. It’s always nice to be able to do some shopping to top off some groceries, and to generally walk around. This particular Walmart had an interesting section - Emergency Prep Centre. One of these "delicious packs" sold for $99.97.
Once it gets later on in the evening it becomes quite quiet. Well, that is until they decide to sweep the lot – then you can spend a couple of hours listening to a street cleaner.
Today, we did a tour of Bryce Canyon National Park. The landscape and sights were absolutely amazing so I have included a fair number of pictures – I hope you enjoy them.
The weather is predicted to be cold and windy for the next few days but it is supposed to be sunny. We are at a spot near Page, AZ and will stay here for a few days until it warms up a bit.
I hope you enjoyed our first week out as we certainly did. Hope to see you back next week. Have a great week.
It's windy here today also. I see your original route changed. Safe travels
