Hello 2023

The week before this past week was one to which we could say "good-bye".  Before the week came to an end, I decided it was time to take down our Christmas tree and once again store away the decorations.  I tucked them all away in a good-sized rubbermaid container and sent Gerry to take them out and stow them away for another year.  What do I hear (it certainly wasn't any tiny reindeer) but a loud grunt.  I went out to check it out and I found the old guy (nope, not St. Nick) laying on a concrete patio - yikes.  Sounds bad - but not too serioius - he caught his toe on the step, landed on the container, and rolled off onto the patio.  Not badly bruised other than for a couple of toes that are still sore, swollen.  That's ended the year with a bang - for Gerry at least.

One the very last day of December we woke up just after 4 a.m., we shook, the motorhome creaked, we looked at each other and said "is that an earthquake"?  Well, yes it was - he is a little article about it.  We did send 2022 off with a big bang!!

The weather this past week was somewhat of a mixed bag.  We had clouds, and we sun, and rain, and wind, and calm.  Most of the rain was at night as was the worst of the wind.  Even with that, we were still able to go out every day for a walk without getting wet or struggling in the wind.  The week ended with weather so perfect.

This is an anthill where the ants are as busy as can be.  Every ant was carrying what looked like a piece of fluff but there seemed to be no rhyme nor reason what their goal was.  They were going in all directions which seemed to be counter-productive.

This is a symbol for ????  None of us knew.

And up the hill we go.  I learned that if you stay at the back of the pack, you don't even have to try to keep up!!

This is obviously a sign that a light shines on us.  It was really neat seeing this beam of light shine through the clouds.

Every morning the sun casts a golden glow on the mountains, but it doesn't last long.  I would have to get up at the right time to catch the impressive colours and today was that day.

The sunrise and sunsets are amazing but so is the colour of these mountains.

This week has been a quiet week.  Actually, it seems that every week has become a quiet week - is that a sign??  I hope your week is great, take care and I'll be back next week.
